On my recent vacation my wife, son and I visited Pulau Sibu in Malaysia during three fairly isolated days (not far from where they once filmed “Expedition Robinson” (what later became known as “Survivor” in the US). Only a narrow paved road connecting few points exist on the island. Usually one encounters foot prints from humans, cattle or deer and tyre tracks from a bicycle or motorcycle “fossilized” in the concrete road.
At the end of the road on Sibu I encountered these unusual prints from a monitor lizard (note the mark from the tail in-between the feet). These monitor lizards are quite common in Malaysia and on Pulau Tioman we were lucky to see two large lizards wrestling each others.
