Ichkabal videos

The blog Mexíque Ancíen recently posted two new Youtube INAH documentaries on Ichkabal, a massive Late Formative site in southern Quintana Roo.

The late Enrique Nalda thought this might have been an earlier capital of the Kan (or Kaan) kingdom as the Kan capital in Early Classic times was located at the nearby site of Dzibanché (it later moved to Calakmul).

  1. Since Enrique Nalda died, there hasn’t been much information on Ichkabal. Do you know of any new studies or updates? Searching the internet doesn’t reveal much.

  2. Unfortunately not. I suspect such a large site will continue to under investigation.
