Archaeologist Payson Sheets reports on a recently discovered causeway at the site of Ceren in El Salvador. Ceren was buried by ash from a volcanic eruption around AD 630. The causeway is not stone-lined like most causeways are. The short causeway appears to lead to a couple of ceremonial structures where it is believed a ceremony was performed when the site was abandoned in haste.
