Marcus Nilsson at Dooodles has written two interesting posts on the ritual from an object oriented perspective. They are written in Swedish but these two posts should be of interest to both archaeologists and anthropologists. Instead of asking what the ritual symbolizes for various people or how it may have been used as a tool for people and organizations in power (anthropocentric perspectives), the ritual is seen as an object itself and other objects’ sensual profiles of it make them interact with the ritual in various ways.
